Here’s a quick guide to live music in Columbia this week:


  • Holiday Brass 7 PM at Missouri United Methodist Church, $5: “This year’s event will feature the MU Faculty Brass Quintet, the Brass Choir, Trumpet Ensemble, Horn Choir, Trombone Ensemble, Tuba and Euphonium Ensemble, as well as a mass brass ensemble comprised of about 100 University of Missouri brass students.”
  • Pepper, The Movement, New Beat Fund 7:30 PM at The Blue Note, $20: “Kona dub rock,” reggae, hip-hop






  • Joey DeFrancesco Trio, Matt Wilson Tree-O 3 and 7:30 PM at Murry’s: “Just what’s going to happen when Hammond B3 monster Joey DeFrancesco crosses paths with drummer-percussionist and “Mr. Fun City” Matt Wilson is anyone’s guess – but, as we said, you’d be crazy to miss this one.”
  • MU Women’s Chorale 2 PM at First Baptist Church, $5: “The MU Women’s Chorale is a selective ensemble dedicated to studying and sharing music written for women’s voices.”
  • MU Concert Chorale 5 PM at First Baptist Church, $5: “The Concert Chorale is a seventy-voice select ensemble designed to provide intensified study of, and performance experience with, a varied repertoire of outstanding and challenging choral compositions.”
  • Mizzou New Music Ensemble 7:30 PM at Whitmore Recital Hall, $5
