December is here and brings with it the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping and year-end activities. Why not take a moment to relax and enjoy the magic of holiday twinkling lights. Columbia has plenty of amazing light displays to enjoy this year. Here are some of the must see spots in 2020.

 

Cherry Hill Magic Tree

The original Magic Tree (4200 Merchant Street) has been a Mid-Missouri favorite for 25 years. You can also find magic trees at The Crossing (3615 Southland Drive), downtown in front of Commerce Bank (corner of 9th and Broadway) and at Unity Church (1600 West Broadway).

 

Take a walk through The District and enjoy the lighted columns at the Boone County Courthouse. If you stroll down Broadway, you’ll enjoy the magic tree, festive storefronts and pole mount light displays. Swing by the North Village Arts District and enjoy the lights near Fretboard Coffee.

 

Enjoy holiday lights from the safety and comfort of your vehicle when you drive-thru Veteran’s United Home Loans light display. This one mile loop of lights is located at 4700 South Providence Road and is open daily from 6:3o p.m. to 10 p.m. This “Bright Lights Holiday Nights” themed experience will be open December 7 through 20.

 

Candy Cane Crib

With over 45,000 lights, Candy Cane Crib (504 Fay Street) is a sight to behold. Visitors can stop by between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. through December 31.

 

 

Drive by the 26 foot Christmas tree at Shelter Insurance (1817 West Broadway) and enjoy 25 different LED animated light shows.

 

Veterans United Holiday Lights 2020

Stop by The North Pole (Brookthorn Court) and tune in to 95.3 while you take in the light show and living windows. You just might see The Grinch while you’re there. Check out the Gingerbread House (Dalcross Drive) and enjoy hot cocoa and candy canes and don’t forget to drop of your letter to Santa.

 

Warm Springs Ranch

Make your reservation online to to visit Warm Springs Ranch (25270 Hwy 98 – Boonville) and enjoy viewing the amazing Clydesdales and holiday lights from your vehicle. Open through December 30.
