It’s Homecoming week! It will be a battle of the Tigers Saturday with Mizzou taking on Memphis. Kickoff is at 3 PM.



Looking for a hotel room? If you’re having a hard time finding a room, call the City Contact Center at 573-874-CITY (2489) and ask for hotel availability.


  • Park downtown [parking garages are free on Saturdays] and walk to the stadium
  • Park downtown and catch a shuttle to the stadium
  • Check to see if your hotel is on a shuttle route

A few tailgating notes:

  • Tailgating sites open at 8 AM
  • Tiger Walk occurs 2 hours and 30 minutes before kick off – this year Tiger Walk will begin at the corner of Mick Deaver and Champions Dr. and will be followed by a free concert from Nico & Vinz in the free fan fest area on Mick Deaver Drive, east of the stadium.

  • The stadium opens 90 minutes before kick off
  • Keep any pets on a leash
  • Drones are not allowed to be flown on campus
  • If you don’t have your own, ask a parking attendant for a free blue recycling bag
  • Make sure you have designated drivers if you serve alcohol at your tailgate
  • Just follow the rules and have fun!

Be prepared: be sure to follow the bag policy; the following options are allowed into the stadium:

  • Bags must be clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and not exceeding 12″ x 6″ x 12″
  • One-gallon, clear plastic freezer bags
  • Small clutch bags that do not exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″
  • An institutionally approved logo no larger than 4.5″ x 3.4″ on one side of permissible clear bag

Campus Decorations: Campus Decorations will be held on Friday, October 19 from 6 PM to 9:30 PM

Pep Rally: Friday, October 19 at 8:30 PM at Traditions Plaza

Decorate the District: Each participating student organization will be partnered with a local establishment in downtown Columbia to decorate their storefront with Mizzou spirit. Take a stroll through downtown Columbia during the weekend of Homecoming to see the creativity of our current students.

Songs for a New World Thursday – Saturday 7:30 PM and Sunday 2 PM

This brilliant gem in Sondheim’s collection of musicals is the perfect choice for the October slot.  The dark tale of a barber who takes revenge on those who wrong him has been wildly popular since its Broadway debut in 1979.  Multiple Tony winner.  Based on an original Penny Dreadful tale from the 1840s. Come see how Talking Horse creatively stages this show in our black box space!  Directed by Trent Rash.

Missouri Autumn Carnival & Balloon Festival Thursday – Sunday
Cartwright Business & Technology Park in Ashland
There will be hot air balloon flights, glows, and tether rides back to the skies in mid Missouri. Balloons fly just after sunrise and a couple hours before sunset, during the event you can expect to see balloons around 7:30 in the mornings and 5:30-8:30 in the evenings. There will be a full carnival with rides for all ages, children’s areas, food and retail vendors for lots of fun throughout the weekend. The event site is the Cartwright Business and Technology Park, right off Highway 63 at the Columbia Regional Airport exit.

Centralia Pumpkin Fest Saturday 10 AM – 7 PM
Centralia City Square
We are hosting the Centralia Pumpkin Fest in Downtown Centralia. We will have free activities for families. Vendors, crafts, food trucks, pie eating contest, battle of the drummers, corn hole tournament and so much more.
