This year, Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Amy Schneider went through Columbia on a quest to find some of Columbia’s local hidden gems. Amy’s Shop Local Summer was all about exploring new destinations in Columbia that you’d never expect to find. Fringe Boutique has a western edge and prides itself on giving superb customer service. Kitchenware, tabletop items and more can be found at Tallulahs. CVB team members Terra and Julie celebrated the St. Louis Blues Stanley Cup win by exploring Rally House. Plume features items from 80 local artisans and has a beautiful variety of offerings. The Tin Roof is filled with Southern charm, hospitality and an endless supply of unique gifts. Home to 25 locally-owned stores and many more, the Columbia Mall offers a little bit of everything under one roof. McAdams’ Ltd. is a beautiful antique furniture and jewelry store that makes you feel right at home. For custom bath, body and home fragrances, Makes Scents is the place to go. Amy and Matt McCormick, the President of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, enjoyed their time in The District during the Dog Days of Summer Sidewalk Sale. Poppy is filled with all homemade items, and everything offers its own personal touch. The Southern Rose is a monogram, gift and apparel shop that is all about making each purchase special. The CVB team is happy to welcome students, old and new, back to Columbia. The City isn’t the same without all of its students in town. Thank you for helping make Columbia a place worth visiting.
