The Boone County History & Culture Center is open and now features the Treasures of Boone County mural, a testament to the County’s bicentennial this year.

The mural was designed by Columbia’s own Stacy “Wildy” Self, owner of WildysWorld! MuralMakers Studio. It features the communities that create Boone County, including Ashland, Centralia, Columbia, Hallsville, Harrisburg, Rocheport, Sturgeon and The Missouri River Community.

The mural captures different aspects of life in Boone County. Self reached out to the community for input on what should be featured and even had community paint nights year. Hundreds of people came together to help paint this historic mural. It is a beautiful symbol for all who live in and visit Boone County.
