Haunted Observatory
Wednesday, Oct. 25th 6-8 PM at Laws Observatory
With the magical help of colleagues from the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Laws Observatory is haunted by the ghosts of dead astronomers, including Galileo and Newton. Come and visit with these long dead astronomers and get a tour of the sky from the ghost of Professor Dumbledore.

Friday, Oct. 27th 4-6 PM in The District
Take the kiddos trick-or-treating in The District for free.

Trunk or Treat
Saturday, Oct. 28th 4-6 PM at Columbia Orthopaedic Group 
Bring your kids in costume for some trunk-or-treating.

Trunk or Treat
Sunday, Oct. 29th 1-3 PM at Columbia Independent School
Dress up in your costume, grab a candy collector and join other families in the cafeteria. There will be sweet treats to share, a parade at 2:30 and games and fun activities. This event is open to the public.

Sunday, Oct. 29th 6-8 PM at Faith Baptist Church
Bring the whole family out to Faith Baptist Church for a night everyone can enjoy. This kid-friendly Halloween celebration is filled with candy, hot chocolate and family photo ops.

Brew ‘n View: Hocus Pocus
Wednesday, Oct. 25th 8 PM at The Blue Note
300 years have passed since the Sanderson sisters were executed for practicing dark witchcraft. Returning to life thanks to a combination of a spell spoken before their demise and the accidental actions of Max, the new-virgin-in-town, the sisters have but one night to secure their continuing existence.

Zombie Pub Crawl
Friday, Oct. 27th 6 PM in The District
Take a tour of downtown Columbia, find the cure for the Zombie Outbreak or help spread the plague. The crawl begins at 6:00 pm in the District at participating locations and goes until bars close. Your $10 wristband gets you FREE COVER at all participating locations, drink specials while you’re there, access to the secret scavenger crawl with a chance to win some cool prizes!

Monster Bike Bash
Saturday, Oct. 28th 10AM-8PM leaving from Flat Branch Park
Trail goons reunite for this FREE ghoulish ride back from the grave! The Monster Bike Bash is a Halloween inspired bicycle party on the Katy Trail! Bring out your alter ego and be sure to dress for the occasion.

Rocheport Oktoberfest IV: Monster Mash Edition
Saturday, Oct. 28th 12-9 PM in Rocheport
Free live music all day long from Noon – 9 pm! More beer variety, more vendors, more fun – plus a $250 grand prize for the best Halloween costume.

Brew ‘n View: The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Monday, Oct. 30th 8:30 PM 
Kick off your Halloween by experiencing the chaos and delight of the world’s greatest (and only) rock & roll audience participation film, hosted (as always) by Mark “The Master” Chambers!

A Very Decadent Halloween

It is no secret: Halloween is DECADENT NATION‘s favorite holiday. For year’s DN has made an annual tradition of throwing the most festive Halloween parties in Mid-Missouri. $100 prize to the best Halloween costume.

Also new this year is the ability to customize your scare level.

October 22nd, 9 AM – 10:30 AM at The ARC 
Take your 2-6 year olds to The ARC where they can ride their Big Wheels, tricycles, and other pedal-powered vehicles (no bikes) on a ‘haunted’ ride around the track.

Free for students and only $5 for general public – check out the haunted house, the Great Pumpkin Carving, costume contest, and Halloween treats.

Gather ’round, little witches, goblins and ghouls! Get the whole family into the Halloween spirit with spooky stories and creepy crafts. The event is ages 9 and up, and registration beforehand is encouraged.

To kick off Halloween weekend, put on that crazy costume and catch some Mizzou hoops. Both the men’s and women’s programs will be passing out candy, socializing with fans and taking photos before playing in the Black & Gold scrimmage games. Halloween-themed entertainment will be provided in between the scrimmages.

If you’re visiting Columbia over Halloween, a hotel means you don’t have a neighborhood of doorbells to ring for your tricks and treats. Never fear! Columbia is home to plenty of family-friendly events for your little ghosts and princesses. Pick one (or a few) to get your spooky fix!

Pet Costume Parade and Trick-or-Treating at Stephens College

Thursday, October 24th — 5:00-8:00 p.m.

The pet parade (adorable!) starts at 5 p.m. on Journey Plaza, the quad south of Walnut Street. The parade will wind through campus, across the College and Broadway bridges and back to Lela Raney Wood Hall, where the trick-or-treating event will begin. Between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., members of Mortar Board and other campus clubs will be stationed around the Kimball Ballroom, passing out candy and overseeing activities for children.

Halloweenie in The District

Friday, October 25th — 4:00-6:00 p.m.

Are you teeny? Then come to Halloweenie! A safe and fun time for the little ones, come down to opens in a new windowThe District and trick-or-treat at your favorite stores and restaurants. Everyone starts handing out candy at 4 pm and the festivities are usually over by 6 pm.

The Haunted Tour at Maplewood

Friday, October 25th and Saturday, October 26th

The Boone County Historical Society and Maplewood Barn Theatre are bringing you “Halloween at Maplewood and Boone Village.” Watch Halloween come alive at Boone Village as re-enactors from Maplewood Barn Theatre bring the ghosts of Columbia to life. It will begin at the Boone County Museum with a walk through Boone Village and its buildings where you will be greeted by ghosts and ghouls, some from Columbia history and some not! The walk will continue through a “graveyard” which will be haunted by Lenoir and Nifong family members as well as other inhuman ghouls! The walk will end up at the Maplewood House where zombie like neighbors from the past have taken over the house ! The tours will be presented on Friday, October 25th and Saturday, October 26th at dusk. The ticket price is $5.00. NOTE: May not be appropriate for small children.

Bring Your Own Big Wheel: Track or Treat!

Saturday, October 26th — 9:00-10:30 a.m.

Riders can bring their fanciest Big Wheel, tricycle, or other pedal powered vehicle and cruise the ARC Track. Halloween props will be set up for an exciting haunted ride and great photo ops for parents! Tons of prizes and awards will be given to all riders and mileage will be recorded. All equipment must be clean and approved by event staff before entering the track surface.  Absolutely no bicycles! Track is closed to walkers/joggers during event. Don’t forget the costume!

Trick or Treat Through Missouri History at the State Historical Society

Tuesday, October 29th

Come in costume to this fun, educational family event. In addition to other activities, we have crafts; information about Missouri’s ghosts, pumpkins and bats; a display on the history of Halloween costumes; and a gallery tour, guided by the spirit of Eliza Bingham, wife of Missouri’s famed painter, George Caleb Bingham. Candy is available at each station. Brave visitors can explore the Kids Cave and the Ghostly Gallery.

Thursday, October 31st — 6:00-8:00 p.m.

New place, new name, same great Halloween event! Come out for an evening filled with activities, games and treats for kids ages 12 and under. A fun alternative to door-to-door trick or treating!

At Woodhaven Office, 1405 Hathman Place
Bring your family out for this fun event presented by the men and women with developmental disabilities supported by Woodhaven. Go “trunk-or-treating” in a safe and fun environment and have the opportunity to play games and participate in other fun activities.
