Water Festival

Have fun with water and learn about streams and animals that live in streams through activities designed for children and families. Staff with several agencies and organizations will provide activities and displays, including: catching aquatic animals in the stream, seeing live turtles, using an interactive stream model, doing an art project and learning about fish and pollution in rivers. Young children (4 and up) will be assisted with using nets to catch aquatic animals in the stream near the Devil’s Icebox parking lot, while an optional guided hike to Gans Creek is being offered for adults and children 6 years old and up from 10:30 am to noon. Registration is necessary for the Gans Creek Hike (call 573-449-7402), but not for attending the event. This event is co-sponsored by Boone County, River Relief, Missouri Stream Teams, Missouri Department of Conservation, Friends of Rock Bridge Memorial State Park and the park.
