What’s a Game Jam? It’s 48-hour event where developers around the Columbia, MO area make tabletop or video games based on a theme. At around 7 PM on Friday, the theme will be decided, then attendees will be invited to brainstorm ideas. After that, attendees will pitch their ideas to the crowd, groups will be formed and the development begins! This event is open to all skill levels and we encourage first timers to come and make a game. Members of the COMO Game Dev Association Board of Directors will be judging entries and mentoring attendees as needed. Whether you are a programmer, a writer, an artist, a musician, a publisher, an engineer or a gamer – you are welcome.
Winners will receive prizes for Best Tabletop Game, Best Art (Tabletop), Best Use of Theme (Tabletop), Best Video Game, Best Art (Video game) and Best Use of Theme (Video game). There will also be a vote for “crowd favorite.”
This Game Jam is run by the COMO Game Dev Association. Registration is free, donations are welcome.
